Residency & Traveler program
The Rope Collective studio offers programs for traveling artists and practitioners, as well as a place to stay during your time here! Enjoy the comforts of our studio during your time with us or upgrade your stay to an upstairs rental apartment for a discounted price. Terms and contracts of these programs are customizable to suit you best!
our studio is located in barrio logan on the edge of downtown, san diego. we function as a communal artist collective and have amenities for traveling guest artists/presenters.

private room during non-studio hours
Stay in one of our side rooms during your stay here! We have two side rooms, The Light Room and The Dark Room, with full privacy during non-studio working hours. During studio working hours, only our resident practitioners may share the space which will be outlined and agreed upon ahead of time.
sleep/bathroom amenities
We offer a full size futon mattress for sleeping accommodations with clean sheets, pillows, blanket, and a towel. The bathroom has a fully functional shower/bath tub.
kitchen
We have a full kitchen with a counter top, sink, oven, mini fridge, water dispenser (cool, cold, and hot water), as well as some kitchenware that may be used communally. Please note we do not have a microwave or toaster.
**This is a communal space and we ask that you clean up after yourself/as you go. A studio handbook will be sent with your on-boarding information once we are confirmed for your stay.
contract format options
hourly rental
You may select to be contracted under an hourly rental agreement for events, classes, workshops, privates: this is a preferred option for those with events independent of The Rope Collective and not in collaboration with. Pay a flat rate per hour to utilize part of / or whole studio space. There is no facilitation, marketing, ticketing, studio hosts or clean up service included with this option nor are there restrictions on how you choose to operate your event excluding adhering to our House Rules and Code of Ethics at all times.
we book you
If you have a set base rate for performances, events, workshops, or any other offering that we’re interested in booking you for: Please let us know and we will book you at a set rate, which will be independent of profits.
percentage based
You may select to be contracted on a percentage agreement based on profit sales of any event or activity hosted in the studio. This is a preferred option for those with events in collaboration with or under The Rope Collective umbrella. With this format: facilitation, marketing, ticketing, studio hosts, and set up/break down/clean up are all included. Studio supplies and reimbursement of additional needed supplies are also offered. You may also choose to co-instruct or co-create with those part of The Collective.
1:1 lessons & sessions
If you would like to take private / 1:1 lessons and sessions during your visit with us, this is an option! We have the option of a day rate or hourly rate.
50/50 split
You may select to be contracted in a partnership with The Rope Collective and a 50/50 split of profits with the studio. This is a preferred method for larger scale collaborative events that are brand collaborations and co-created, co-run, co-managed. This option requires a phone or video meeting.
in depth details
Once you have applied, we will send in depth details of our different format structures via email. Once confirmed, your on-boarding information will be sent: including contracts, studio handbook, and other essential information to your visit. Any information pertaining to preferred format is helpful when filling out the form.
