Our Mission
The Rope Collective is San Diego's first and only rope centric studio! We prioritize inclusivity, accessibility, and communal care. We provide education programs that focus on creating safer spaces for rope, performance/movement arts, and community building. We cultivate the agency and autonomy of our students and practitioners by providing an intentional space to learn, practice, perform and explore.

House Rules
Thank you for being a part of our studio and helping cultivate community for rope, kink + healing here in San Diego.
As part of our commitment to building ethical connections and exploring our desires more freely, we have a few house rules that will allow us all to build a foundation that everyone can find safety within and we can build connections that are autonomous, consensual, and communal.
Please review the House Rules below and if you have any questions, you can contact us here.
Thank you,
The Rope Collective

PRACTICE + PLAY ETHICALLY at all times
The House safe word is SAFE WORD - if you need help you can say this and a facilitator or organizer will come check in with you.
INFORMED CONSENT No means no. No answer means no. Maybe means no for now. Unsure? Ask! (but default to no). The only thing that means yes is a YES! Disclose information and be honest about your skill level, desired intent, and the experience you'd like to have and respectfully receive information from others. Practice responsible photography. Do not take images/videos (even body parts) of people who have not given consent. Ask and confirm.
NEGOTIATION Every scene + each new partner should begin with a negotiation and informed consent. Honor people's boundaries, requests, and needs. Collaboratively find options for areas/requests that you are unable to meet.
VETTING Do your own vetting. As a Collective, we amplify building your own agency and vetting those you choose to engage + play with inside and outside of our spaces and events. If something arises, we are here to help you find options, resources, and support for resolution. If this is your first time or if you need help with vetting, ask a facilitator or organizer and we can talk you through a few practices that have been supportive for us. Although we are growing in visibility, kink + rope still hold stigmas in vanilla spaces. We center operating as a community and utilizing supportive conflict resolution amongst peers + with mediation as a standard over bringing in outside authorities as often as we can. If you need support, please file an incident report by contacting us at contact@theropecollective.com or reaching out to one of the facilitators/organizers. We honor and respect discretion, identity, and experience.
Honor BOUNDARIES + CONNECTION by being respectful of other people's property, space/scenes, and personal bubble. If you need to interrupt or engage a scene, please find an organizer or host to assist you.
RESPECT THE SPACE by treating it with care. Pick up after yourself, sanitize + clean your area, tools, and gear borrowed, throw away trash, put away dishes, and if there's something that needs attention, please let one of the hosts know as soon as possible. Be discreet outside the venue, keep voices lower outside to respect our neighbors.
Center SAFETY inside our space and out in the community. Take what you learn here and put into practice every time you practice or play. There are inherent risks associated with rope + kink. Please know your risks, practice ethically. Use approved gear, have safety sheers on you, and we encourage you to practice + play soberly within our spaces.
DRESS CODE You may be in any level of undress as you are comfortable in as long as your nudity is consensual with others present and you stay within the studio for a private event. Regaurdless, but please keep bottom undergarments on. No fluids, penetration, or extremely loud reactions are permitted.
Please review our CODE OF ETHICS on our website here.
If a problem arises inside the studio, please contact one of the studio managers or a host for support. If you have a problem that you’d like to report and/or be supported in, please review our COMMUNITY SUPPORT page and fill out the CONFLICT AWARNESS RESOLUTION form here to begin the process.
